Drugs, ganja, IMFL seized in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: A West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) team from the Garchuk Police Station arrested a drug peddler, identified a Rahul Paul alias Bikash Paul of Kalaigaon, from Lokhra on Sunday night.

According to police sources, 2.41 gm heroin and 2.454 kg of ganja were seized from his possession.

A case (No. 10/22 u/s 22(b)/21(a) of NDPS Act) has been registered and Paul was produced in the CJM's court on Monday, which forwarded him to judicial custody.

In another development, a team of the Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) from the Latasil Police Station on Sunday night seized 156 bottles of illegally hoarded Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a shop owned by one Bel Das of Uzanbazar.

The case has been handed over to the Excise Department.
