Durga Puja 2023 preparations begin in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: With Durga Puja 2023 more than two months away, preparations for the festival have already started in the city. Among them is the one organised by the Jai Hind Club located in the Pandu New Colony, which is going to celebrate its 75th edition this year.

The Jai Hind Club has chosen the Ramayana as the theme for the Platinum Jubilee celebration and aims to build a 60-foot-tall statue of Lord Rama as the key attraction. Talented sculptors from West Bengal and Assam have been given the duty to achieve this feat. Being the oldest of the pujas in the Pandu locality, which is now famous for multiple Durga Pujas, the organisers have already started their preparations for the same.
