GUWAHATI: Guwahati is all geared up for the celebration of the biggest festival, Durga Puja, which will commence on Friday. The puja pandals are all decked up, and people are well excited for the puja ceremonies to begin. The puja preparations are in full swing, with only one day left for the festival. The countdown for the puja celebration began with Mahalaya, which started on Saturday.
On Maha Shasthi, which is on Friday across the country, the incarnation of Bodhon of the Goddess Durga happened on Thursday evening ahead of the puja on the day of Maha Panchami. The annual five-day Durgotsav will begin by unveiling the faces of the goddess Kalparambho, Adhibash, and Abahon (invocation) on the day of Maha Shasthi on Friday.
The five-day festivities will start with Maha Shasthi on October 21, followed by Maha Ashtami on October 22, Maha Navami on October 23, and will come to an end with the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga along with the other deities on October 24, i.e., Bijoya Dashami.
