Dust storm hits Assam, several properties in Guwahati were reportedly damaged

GUWAHATI: A heavy sand storm-lashed Guwahati and many other parts of the State on Wednesday. Several properties in Guwahati and some parts of the state were reportedly damaged in the massive storm. The storm damaged several houses, roadside hoardings, uprooting electric poles, trees in many parts of the state. The power supply in Guwahati was snapped for a few hours. The Fancy Bazar Old Jail wall was collapsed and a ferry with ACA (Assam Cricket Association) president Ramen Dutta, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) Minister Manoj Bora and 11 other people were stranded in the middle of Majuli river.
