E-rickshaw driver killed in hit and run incident in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: An accident took place in the early hours of Monday on the National Highway -27 near the District Transport Officer's Office at Betkuchi.

According to sources, the accident took place at about 6:15 AM on Monday. It was informed that it was an incident of hit and run and the vehicle which caused the accident was able to flee from the site of the accident.

Meanwhile, an investigation was initiated to track down the person and vehicle which caused the accident. The victim was identified as Dhaneshwar Rai, belonging to Dhubri and residing in the Beltola locality of the city. He was shifted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital after the accident, but he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
