East Guwahati Police District rescue 67 cattle; 4 persons arrested

GUWAHATI: An East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Jorabat Outpost of Basistha PS foiled three cattle smuggling attempts and rescued 67 cattle and recovered the carcasses of 11. Four cattle smugglers –Faruk Abdulla (24) of Dalgaon, Habibur Islam (30) and Nur Mohammad (30), both from Ulani, and Ashikul Islam (21) of Khatowal, were arrested. Two trucks with registration numbers NL02 K 3695 and AS23 CC 0304, and one pick-up truck with registration number AS01 QC 5717 were seized. Legal action has been initiated.
