Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu distributed appointment letters to specially-abled candidates

GUWAHATI: State Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu on Tuesday ceremonially distributed appointment letters to 280 specially-abled candidates for the the post of regular teachers, in a programme organized by the Directorate of Elementary Education at the PWD Convention and Training Centre, Guwahati.
Around 193 candidates have been appointed in lower primary schools, 75 in upper primary schools and 12 as science teachers in upper primary schools. As the chief guest, Dr Pegu in his speech said that under the leadership and able guidance of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, a revolutionary change had come in the education sector where teachers were being appointed by organizing TET examination in a free and fair way. He asked all the candidates to think positively and move forward with an aim of serving the nation.
The minister further said that the education department had been working relentlessly for infrastructure development and other related works of schools.
Dr Nani Gopal Mahanta, advisor, Education Department, Rukma Gohain Baruah, AHSEC chairperson, Dr Bijoya Choudhary, Secretary, Education department, and Suranjana Senapati, Director of Elementary Education, were also present.
