Two hawk-eyed constables of the RPF on 'Meri Saheli' duty-Sangita Mandal and Ranjita Angom-today rescued 11 teens, who had left their respective families for various reasons, from the Guwahati Railway Station.

The eleven male teens of the 13-17 age group were roaming aimlessly on the platforms when the two lady constables rescued them. Seven of the boys rescued from Platform No. 1 of the Guwahati Railway Station were from Chhaygaon in the Kamrup district. They came to Guwahati by the Mendipathar-Guwahati Passenger Train. The other four, hailing from Bongaigaon, boarded a train at Barpeta Road and were rescued from Platforms No. 2 and 3. They could not name the train on which they had travelled. RPF handed over all 11 boys to Childline, Guwahati, for necessary action.

When asked, the boys could not give any reasonable ground for coming to Guwahati or where they would head.
