Employees of 167 colleges outside NPS (New Pension Scheme) bracket

GUWAHATI: The State Education Department has made it known that the tutor principals, tutor assistant professors, tutor librarians and non-teaching staff of the 134 provincialized colleges and 33 newly provincialized colleges of the State will be outside the bracket of the NPS (New Pension Scheme).

In order sent on March 19, 2021, the Director of Higher Education informed the colleges that salaries of the tutor principals, tutor assistant professors, tutor librarians and non-teaching staff of the 134 provincialized colleges and 33 newly provincialized colleges of the State were fixed as per provisions of the Assam Education (Provincialization of Services of Teachers and Reorganization of Educational Institutions) Act, 2017 and the Amendment Act, 2018 and the Assam Education (Provincialization of Services of Non-Teaching Staff of Educational Institutions) Act, 2018 and Amendment Act, 2020.
