Fake bills worth Rs 2 crore submitted to Guwahati Municipal Corporation?

GUWAHATI: The GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) Commissioner ordered an investigation into the alleged fake bills amounting to Rs 2.21 crore submitted to the Corporation by a few private parties.

According to sources, the private parties submitted the bills to the Corporation in the name of de-siltation drains. The commissioner smelt a rat and ordered an investigation into the works done by the private parties to ascertain the veracity of the bills. Since the passage of the bills is under process, the matter is under investigation.
