GUWAHATI: The applications for admission for the undergraduate (UG) programmes in all affiliated colleges under Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, and Bodoland University should be mandatorily provisioned through the SAMARTH portal (https://assamadmission. samarth.ac.in) without charging any application fee by the colleges offering UG programmes.
The Director of Higher Education issued a notice regarding admission fees and said, “Admission fees can be taken as per the fee structure declared in the institution bulletin or prospectus or the fee structure notified by the Govt. of Assam for the academic session 2023–24, and the status of whether admission was granted on the basis of the Fee Paid or Fee Waiver category needs to be updated in the portal at the time of granting admission. In the case of giving admissions under the Fee Waiver category, a mandatory certificate or document issued by a competent authority needs to be verified and uploaded in the portal at the time of granting admission.”
The merit list will be prepared by the respective universities or colleges offering UG programmes and will be published on their institution’s website, as per the common timeline notified earlier.
The Higher Education Department said in a tweet, “There is no change in the fee waiver scheme under the Higher Education Department.” The office memorandum of the scheme will continue to be operational for provincialized and government colleges and universities as earlier.”
