GUWAHATI: Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress president Mira Borthakur Goswami on Sunday filed an FIR at Dispur Police against one Ritu Borah, who allegedly distorted a particular video footage of party leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and projected her as a transgender person.

The FIR states that All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had participated in a protest programme in New Delhi on Friday last against exorbitant price rise, imposition of GST on food grains, non-recruitment of unemployed youth etc. However, the FIR alleged that Ritu Borah has illegally transformed the voice of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on the video footage with that of a transgender person and allegedly also added indecent acts and songs, "which has manifestly affected her fame in the nationwide (stage) and also affects her individual dignity."

The FIR requested the police to enquire into the matter and arrest the Ritu Borah by registering a case under appropriate penal laws.
