Fire incident at under-construction flyover in Maligaon, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A small fire broke out at the under-construction flyover in Maligaon on the morning of Friday. The fire is said to have been caused when a tarpaulin sheet used in the construction caught fire because of welding being carried out.

Although nothing except the tarpaulin sheet was damaged in the fire, the incident brought traffic to a complete standstill for a few minutes. The people of Maligaon locality are already suffering heavily because of traffic congestion caused by the construction project, and this incident added to their traffic woes.
