Fishing prohibited in Deepor Beel Wildlife Sanctuary

GUWAHATI: West Police District, Guwahati DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) Nabaneet Mahanta has promulgated 144 CrPC in and around Deepor Beel Wildlife Sanctuary so as to prevent community fishing in the wetland. The prohibitory order will remain in force till January 31, 2021. The police had prior information regarding a community fishing planned on January 3, 2021 by some villagers of Keotpara, Mirkirpara, Paspara, Azara, Tetelia in tandem with people from fringe areas of Guwahati city.
