GUWAHATI: Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who has tested positive for COVID-19, had a sudden drop in his oxygen saturation level on Monday night. Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said a team of doctors are supervising his health and he was given one unit of plasma with 2 lits of oxygen on mask.
Gogoi, who was the CM for three consecutive terms from 2001 till 2016, was tested as COVID-19 positive on August 25. The following day, Gogoi informed the people about his detection through his twitter handle. The Health Department has formed a committee under the chairmanship of Dr Jogesh Sarma, HOD, Pulmonary Medicine Department of the GMCH to monitor the health status of the former Chief Minister of Assam.
