GUWAHATI: Prices of petrol and diesel were hiked by Rs 80 paisa each across metro cities on Saturday, marking the fourth increase of fuel prices in the last five days.
While the price of petrol in the city is now at Rs 98.12 per litre, just Rs 1.88 short of hitting the 100-rupee mark, the price of diesel stands at Rs 84.21 per litre.
Official sources cited the rising cost of raw material to justify the hike.

On the other hand, the price of an LPG cylinder has crossed Rs 1,000 in 16 districts of Assam after the price of the 14.2 kg LPG refills was raised by Rs 50 on Tuesday.
