GUWAHATI: Delegates from 20 countries started arriving in the city for the first G20 Summit.
The delegates will be visiting Sualkuchi on January 31, after which they will be visiting IIT Guwahati for plantation work. They will also attend various programmes at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, including cultural programmes like Xattriya dance along Bihu, Bodo dance, Jhumoor dance, Mukha Bhaona etc. Along with an evening cruise on the river Brahmaputra, the delegates will be also visiting Brahmaputra Heritage Centre.
All the meeting will be held at the Radisson Blu hotel. G20 members constitute around 85 per cent of global GDP, over 75 percent of global trade and two- thirds of the world population. Adil Khan, Nodal Officer of G20, will be conducting the first meet in Guwahati on 'Sustainable Finance Working Group', which will be attended by more than 180 foreign delegates. The G20 countries includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, UK, USA, an the European Union.
