Gauhati High Court: Daniel Topno murder hearing on January 11

GUWAHATI: With the CBI seeking more time, the Gauhati High Court has fixed January 11, 2021 for the next hearing of the Daniel Topno murder case. The Tea Tribe leader was killed on September 26, 2000 at Gohpur. The government did entrust the CBI to investigate the murder. The investigating agency accused Ripun Bora in the murder case. However, on February 10, 2014 the District and Sessions Court acquitted Bora of the murder case. Thereafter for setting aside the order of discharge the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a criminal revision application before the Gauhati High Court.
