Gauhati High Court ordered State Government to restore Mobile Internet by this evening 5 pm

Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court on Tuesday has ordered the State Government to restore mobile internet services by this evening 5 pm.

As per reports, a notification was issued by the court after the two day hearing of the plea filed by a group of concerned citizens.

Four PILs were filed against the suspension of mobile internet service in 10 districts amid ongoing protest against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act.

The court also ordered to submit an affidavit last on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, GHC ordered to restore the internet service with immediate effect.

Notably, Internet services were suspended last Wednesday, initially for a period of 24 hours in ten districts of the State, and was extended for another 48 hours across the State on Thursday.

Later, the suspension of internet services in Assam was extended by another 24 hours again on Monday.
