GUWAHATI: Law students of the Gauhati University have alleged serious errors in the results of the LL B 5th Semester examination, which were announced on February 7 and demanded that revised results be declared with one week.

In a memorandum to the university's Controller of Examinations, the students alleged that the results of 5th Semester have caused chaos and stress among students because many students have failed to secure pass marks despite it being an open-book online examination. They said that those who failed to secure pass marks in this open-book examination included many students who had cleared offline examinations of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Semester examinations with First Division marks have failed to obtain pass marks.

They further alleged many students who appeared the examination, and successfully uploaded the answer scripts, have found themselves being marked as absent in examination. The students said that this is a clear proof of a huge technical error, which is not expected of such a revered institution.

Stating that it is unacceptable that students who successfully graduated may fail in an Open Book Examination, the students demanded that the anomalous results be rectified within a week.
