Gauhati University students dissatisfied with 3rd semester results

GUWAHATI: The results recently declared by the Gauhati University for 3rd under graduate have created dissatisfaction among the students fraternity. The students of the 3rd semester exams enrolled for the examination in the year 2019. Meanwhile, the exam for the 1st semester was held in offline mode but due to COVID-19 pandemic the 2nd and 3rd semester exams were cancelled.

However, the 4th semester was held in online mode. Notably, the Gauhati University administration conceived a formula for deriving the results of 2nd and 3rd semester students. As per the formula the results of the 2nd semester was based on the 1st semester result as grade point while for the 3rd semester was based on assignments, sessional and earlier semester results. However, the result of the 3rd semester has not been taken positively by the students and has reacted strongly against the mechanism.
