Government Railway Police recovers 0.966 kg gold in Tejas Express operation

GUWAHATI: In a successful operation carried out by the Government Railway Police (GRP), they were able to recover a sizeable consignment of gold and arrested two persons in this regard.

The Government Railway Police carried out an operation on the Agartala-New Delhi Tejas Express on Tuesday. During this operation, they were able to recover a consignment containing 0.966 kg of gold. Two persons from Rajasthan named Rahul Soni and Sandeep Kumar were also arrested in relation to this incident.

The gold was being collected from a businessman in Jorhat. The duo had travelled to Guwahati by bus with the gold in their possession before boarding the Agartala-New Delhi Tejas Express in Guwahati. Meanwhile, the key question remains as to from whom they procured the gold.
