GRP, Guwahati recovers stolen mobile phones and ganja

Government Railway Police (GRP), Guwahati on Tuesday morning recovered 39 stolen mobile phones, including two Apple iPhones, and eight SIM cards from Saidur Anchari, a resident of Jharkhand.

GUWAHATI: Government Railway Police (GRP), Guwahati on Tuesday morning recovered 39 stolen mobile phones, including two Apple iPhones, and eight SIM cards from Saidur Anchari, a resident of Jharkhand. The police also recovered 21 kg ganja from his possession which he had concealed using wax from train no 12423 (Dibrugarh/ New Delhi Rajdhani Express) in couch no B 1 and seat.

Sources said that preliminary investigation has revealed that all the stolen mobile phones were used by cybercriminals. The stolen mobile phones and drugs were loaded at Dimapur and were being taken to Jharkhand. The value of the ganja is around Rs 10 lakh and total value of the mobile phones is Rs 10 lakh.
