Guwahati: Accident on Nilachal flyover leaves one dead

GUWAHATI:  A major accident that took place on the newly inaugurated Nilachal Flyover in Guwahati left one person dead and five more injured. The accident took place on the Nilachal Flyover in the morning hours of Saturday, leading to the death of one person on the spot.

According to sources, a truck was coming at a high speed towards Bharalumukh on the flyover. It first collided with a city bus and then went to run over four two-wheelers. The person who died in the incident was later identified as Khabiruddin from Sialmari in Nalbari. Four more people were seriously injured because of the accident.

It was also informed that the truck bearing registration number AS 01 BC 9941 fled from the location of the accident soon after committing the crime, which was later apprehended. Meanwhile, eyewitnesses blamed the unscientific construction of the speed breakers on the flyover as the reason for the accident.
