GUWAHATI: On Thursday, a conference to promote tourism in the northeast was held at the Guwahati Airport. The conference, hosted by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), focused on numerous prospects and opportunities for promoting the region's tourism business.
Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, officials of AAHL, airline services, dignitaries from northeastern tourist agencies, and airport authorities from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport attended the seminar.
On the other hand, Mr. Mallabaruah, speaking at the conference, stated that air travel not only allows millions of people to engage in cultural exchange, but it also helps the tourist industry, which is a major rising economic driver in Assam.
Taking on twitter, Jayanta Mallabaruah stated that, “It is a matter of sheer pride that Guwahati has emerged as the 10th busiest airport in the country and it has enormous potential to grow even more in terms of capacity. It was very captivating to look into the presentation put forwarded by Sher Khan, Deputy CEO, AAHL where he highlighted the road map to transform the airport into a more sophisticated & developed place in the coming days which will create the airport into a Regional Hub.”
The minister went on to say that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has started numerous steps to establish non-stop and direct foreign connection at Guwahati Airport in order to increase tourist arrivals in the state.
Meanwhile, Sher Khan, Deputy CEO of AAHL, highlighted the airport's road map to transform it into a more sophisticated and developed site in the future days, transforming it into a regional hub.
Earlier, Utpal Baruah, Chief Airport Officer, Adani Guwahati International Airport Limited, stated in his inaugural speech that the Adani firm is aiming to build the airport into an economic centre and that the firm is committed to promoting the tourism industry in the region.
