GUWAHATI: Locals in the Hatigaon, Guwahati discovered a man's body floating in a drain on Thursday morning, under strange circumstances. Locals in Lakhimi Nagar Tiniali reported the occurrence after discovering the body floating in the water and going on to alert the appropriate authorities.

Naren Choudhury, a trader, has been identified as the deceased, according to reports.

Meanwhile, on 15 June, at Simina village in Assam's Kamrup rural district on Thursday, the body of an unidentified person floated up in the Brahmaputra River. The body was later found by the police.

According to reports, people discovered the body floating in the river and proceeded to tell the authorities of the situation.

The Sualkuchi River Police squad was alerted about the body, per the information received. When they came, they recovered the body and took it to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for an autopsy.

As of the time this report was submitted, the deceased's identity was still unknown.

On June 11, the body of a person who had vanished after taking a bath in the Brahmaputra River in the Morigaon district of Assam washed up at the Lachit Ghat in Guwahati.

Initial reports state that the tragedy happened on Wednesday of last week in Moirabari Town, in the Morigaon region of Assam. The young man vanished after going to the Brahmaputra River with his buddies to take a bath.

One Gulzar was revealed to be the deceased. His body was discovered that day near Lachit Ghat in Guwahati, four days after he went missing.

An earlier report said that a guy drowned in a pond close to the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) on June 5. His body was later found nearby.

According to reports, the body was retrieved from the pond during a recovery operation by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

The person perished in the pond after going there to take a bath, according the information we obtained. Samar Deka was named as the individual.
