GUWAHATI: The State Health Department is conducting screening tests in full swing across the city, as a preventive measure to avoid the outbreak of coronavirus. On Tuesday, rigorous tests were conducted at the ASTC Paltan Bazar office, Pandu Port, Guwahati Railway Station and ISBT. Meanwhile, the Gauhati High Court (GHC) issued a notice to all lawyers and litigants that all cases except the urgent matters will be adjourned and no adverse orders will be passed.

As the city is in a fragile state, the Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner appealed to the public to follow the advisory issued by the Health Department. The GMDA has issued closure order for all the parks under its authority.

Cleaning squads have been deployed at the Guwahati Railway Station who are sanitizing every train and the health camps are making the public aware about importance of hygiene to tackle the dreaded virus.

The DTO (District Transport Office) held an awareness campaign on its premises and also installed wash basins at its office entrance. The Social Welfare Department and the Health Department also followed the same routine but on a larger scale as it held campaigns all across the city.
