Guwahati man accused of raping 13-year-old minor, arrested

Guwahati: In a shocking incident reported from Assam's Guwahati city, a man has been accused of raping a 13-year-old woman. The man was arrested after the girl's mother filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the local Geetanagar police station.

Babun Sharma, 38, a resident of B P Chaliha Nagar in the Geetanar locality, has been accused of sexual misconduct against the minor girl and police have lodged a case against him under relevant sections of the law.

According to reports, the accused Sharma is a casual worker with the Railways where he was employed as a cleaner.
