Guwahati: Massive Fire in Bhangagarh, Woman Charred to Death

GUWAHATI: A massive fire broke out today in the Udayachal hillside area of Bhangagarh where a woman named Draupadi Roy died.

Initial reports suggest that the cause of the fire is said to be a cylinder blast following which 4 other cylinders were blasted as well which lead to intensified the fire.

As a result, a few houses nearby caught fire in the area. Out of these, 2 houses were completely gutted down leaving several others damaged.

As per locals, properties worth lakhs have been completely destroyed by the fire.

Notably, fire tenders had reached the spot after the incident and were able to douse the inferno. On the other hand, the city police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) also conducted rescue operations.

However, the locals have alleged that the firefighting team had reached late at the spot.
