Guwahati Municipal Corporation evicts street vendors near GMCH

GUWAHATI: The officials of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) carried out an eviction programme in the locality of the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bhangagarh. A large number of vegetable sellers, fish and meat vendors, and several other shops were evicted during this operation. This eviction process is expected to bring relief from the traffic congestion in the locality, as the already narrow road is often constricted by the street vendors and the people buying their supplies from them.
