Guwahati Municipal Corporation launches drive against Single-Use Plastics

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Thursday launched a massive campaign on 'Prohibition of Production, Stocking, Distribution, Sales and Use of Single-Use Plastics (SUP)' at the PWD Convention and Training Centre here and chalked out a series of activities in this connection in the coming days. Among others, the meeting was attended by the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and councillors of the GMC.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of the Pollution Control Board, Assam highlighted the provisions of Act and Rules in the present context of the environmental scenario of Guwahati city.
