Guwahati Municipal Corporation to renew tax on cycles, rickshaws

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has decided to restart tax collecting from rickshaws and bicycles under GMC Act. This comes in the wake of the GMC's decision to ban motorized rickshaws in the city. GMC officials are saying that motor-fitted rickshaws are more accident-prone and received several complaints in this regard.
