Guwahati-North Guwahati Ferry Services Suspended

GUWAHATI: Amid the rising water level of the Brahmaputra River, the ferry services between Guwahati-North Guwahati have been suspended from today, Friday.

According to reports, the Inland Water Transport Department said that the water level in the Brahmaputra has risen steadily to 49.30 cm. Therefore, the department issued an emergency directive on Thursday.

All the six ferries operating three ferry Ghats in Guwahati have been suspended immediately.

Notably, the ferry services from Guwahati to North Guwahati have been cancelled for the second time in a fortnight.

Earlier, Guwahati-North Guwahati ferry services remained suspended from June 19 to June 28, 2022.
