Guwahati: The Inland Water Transport Department suspected ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati from today amid the rising water level of the River Brahmaputra.
According to Inland Water Transport Department, the water level in the Brahmaputra is rising steadily, needing the department to issue the directive. Currently, the river witnessed a rise of 49.30 cm.
Meanwhile, all the six ferries operating in three ferry Ghats in Guwahati remained suspended.
The department cancelled the ferry services from Guwahati to North Guwahati for the second time in a fortnight.
Earlier, Guwahati-North Guwahati ferry services remained suspended from June 19 to June 28, 2022.
