Guwahati Police busts gang of mobile thieves using CC camera footage

GUWAHATI: In an operation based on the footage captured on a close circuit camera, Guwahati Police has been able to bust a gang of miscreants involved in mobile thefts in the city.

Acting on a recent incident where a person was captured on the CC cameras while tresspassing a home in the Silpukhuri locality of the city, Guwahati Police was able to nab one of the miscreants of the notorious gang of mobile thieves that has been active in the locality. Upon interrogation, the police team was able to apprehend two other members of Gandhi Basti's gang after they managed to evade the police for several days. The police team was also able to recover four stolen mobile phones during this operation.

The police revealed the identities of those apprehended as Chitra Das (29), Intu Boro (24), and Raja Das (20) from the Gandhi Basti area. Raja Das and Chitra Das belong to Dalgaon, while Ingtu Bodo is from Sivasagar.
