Guwahati Police Commissionerate To release "Xoixobor Gham" Today

Guwahati: Guwahati Police Commissionerate in collaboration with UTSAH Child Rights Organisation, will release "Xoixobor Gham"(A Weary Childhood) on On World Day Against Child Labour, 2022, a poem written by Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, Guwahati.

According to an official statement, this poem will be launched online by Harmeet Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Guwahati.

Through this poem, the poet attempts to portray the pains of a child, who is subject to abuse and exploitation, while being exploited as a child labourer.

World Day Against Child Labour is celebrated every year to reinforce our collective commitment towards ending child labour across the world, and to protect the survival, development and protection of rights of all children.

''Under the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Programme, the Guwahati Police Commissionerate is committed to the global fight against Child Labour,'' the statement added.

We request your gracious presence at launch of this video on the 12th of June, 2022, at the Guwahati Police Reserve, AT Road; at 4 PM, it said.
