Guwahati: Rains trigger landslides in multiple locations

GUWAHATI: Incessant rains in the city over the last few days have triggered landslides at multiple locations. Several people have been injured in these incidents, and some have even been hospitalized.

One such landslide took place in the Number 2 Milan Nagar area of the Lechubagan locality of Hengrabari in Guwahati. A massive rock fell on the house, injuring all three members of the family residing in the house, and all of them were immediately shifted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The house belonged to one Mohan Rajbongshi.

Another landslide took place in the Kahilipara area. The incident took place in the Chilarai Path of the locality. This landslide had led to the soil moving out and leaving a guard wall and a well completely exposed to damage. It can be noted that, if the guard wall were to crash down, several houses in the locality would be damaged.
