Guwahati Refinery Hospital observes World Health Day

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Refinery Hospital observed the 'World Health Day' on Thursday in collaboration with Apollo International Hospital, Guwahati.

According to a press release, the theme of this year's World Health Day was 'Our Planet Our Health'. The programme kicked off with a Walkathon from Noonmati Officers' Club at Sector III, which was flagged off by SP Singh, Executive Director & Refinery Head, Guwahati Refinery, along with G Ramesh, Executive Director & State Head, Indian Oil Assam Oil Division (IOAOD) and Gautam Kumar Das, General Manager, Guwahati Siliguri Pipeline (GSPL) in the presence of senior officials and a large number of employees.

On the occasion, a health talk was delivered by renowned senior consultant from Apollo International Hospital, Dr SB Das, wherein emphasis was laid on leading a healthy lifestyle and maintaining a balanced diet for ensuring both mental and physical health. He also laid stress on living as naturally as possible. Living close to Nature reduces various ailments, Dr Das said.

The programme was attended by more than 200 participants from different strata of life. As part of the observance, a Zumba session was also conducted by an expert instructor.

Speaking on the occasion, SP Singh emphasized the importance of exercise for keeping oneself healthy both physically and mentally. He further urged all to adopt a healthy lifestyle in their respective lives.
