GUWAHATI: “Let’s Light Up Life” is an initiative taken by Touch of Humanity (an NGO) on the auspicious eve of Diwali this year. Under this initiative, they provided solar lamps to the poor school-going children’s families who are still deprived of basic electricity facilities, due to which they are not able to study during the night. It is an attempt to encourage the children to study and go forward in life, just like a lamp gives light in the dark.

A message that they want to convey is that Diwali is to be celebrated as the festival of light in the true sense by spreading love and light in life rather than burning crackers, which leads to air pollution as well as noise pollution, which in turn creates chaos and harms the street animals and the environment as a whole to a greater extent. Diwali is all about bringing light, happiness, and well-being. This year, they distributed 20 solar lamps to 20 families on the Satgaon Railline near Narengi, Guwahati, with the help of their talented interns.
