GUWAHATI: With a view to encouraging entrepreneurial and startup ideas among students, the Placement and Career Counselling Cell at Cotton University, in collaboration with Assam Startup, organized Startup Manthan 2.0 at the university premises on Wednesday. Kaushik Khanikar from IIM Calcutta Innovation Park acted as the resource person. Speaking on the occasion, Registrar of Cotton University, Dr. Arindam Garg, dwelt on the need to develop a positive mindset and the acquisition of soft skills alongside hard skills as necessary for a strong entrepreneurial foundation in an individual.
In the 'Idea Pitching Contest' held on the occasion, student participants came up with interesting and innovative entrepreneurship ideas. Undergraduate students Argha Parna Paul and Paramita Buzarbaruah of the Department of MBBT and Kabir Kashyap and Aniruddha Rudra of the Department of Economics won the first and second prizes, respectively, for their innovative pitches. The idea pitching contest was judged by Sandeep Kr. Jain, Founder of Wonderbeats Foundation, and Mir Naseer, ALSiSAR Impact, IIT Guwahati, stated a press release.
