GUWAHATI: As part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) will set up a centre at Six Mile here to sell national flags.

Disclosing this on Thursday, GMC Collector Diphikha Saikia said that centre will remain open from August 13 to August 15. She said that the initiative has been taken to motivate the residents of the city to hoist the national flag at each house on the occasion of Independence Day.

It may be mentioned that 'Har Ghar Tiranga' has been launched by the Government of India to encourage people to bring the Tricolour home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India's independence. This is aimed at evoking the emotion of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian national flag.
