Hatigaon Police arrested gamblers in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Gambling dens have become active in Guwahati in the run-up to the Diwali and Kali Puja, and so have the police.

The Hatigaon Police busted a gambling racket in the Basisthapur bylane-2 last night, leading to the arrest of four persons. The four are Majnul Ali of Nalbari, Bhubaneswar Nath of Changsari, Hajed Ali and Rafiqul Islam, hailing from Sijubari in Guwahati.

The police seized incriminating papers, teer tickets and Rs 4,390 recovered from their possession.
