Hatigaon Police Digs out Body from Sijubari Graveyard

GUWAHATI: An accused Jewel Khan from Anupam Path in Hatigaon, who was arrested for murdering his wife by Hatigaon police and managed to break free, is still absconding. Meanwhile, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup (M) ordered an inquest on the body of the wife Susmita Rajbongshi Khan. Her grave at Sijubari Graveyard, Hatigaon was dug out on Monday by Hatigaon police and taken for postmortem. It is to be noted that Jewel Khan was accused by his mother-in-law who lodged a case against him of duping her daughter by luring her with a fake account on social media with the name Rishiraj Deka on 2014, soon after which, the couple eloped. Ever since, the mother-in-law alleged that Khan regularly harassed her daughter both mentally and physically and on July 27, she passed away in a hospital after sustaining injuries. However, as per the doctor’s reports, Khan’s wife had no signs of injury on her body and had passed away after suffering from acute AES (Acute Encephalitis Syndrome).
