In KMS 2021-22, the paddy procurement started on October 1, 2021, and ended on September 30, 2022.

In the Morigaon district, 4,418 farmers sold 44507 MT of paddy. As many as 4,152 farmers from Karbi Anglong sold 54,721 MT of paddy.

In 16 districts, over 1,000 farmers each took part in the paddy procurement system in 2021-22. The rest of the districts in the State had less than 1,000 farmers taking part in the paddy procurement.

However, the paddy procurement in fiscal 2022-23 registered a good start. As many as 1,68,858 farmers have applied for registration so far, and 1,20,114 of the farmers have already registered their names. KMS 2022-23 began on October 1, 2022. With the Centre raising the MSP to Rs 2,040 per quintal in this procurement season against Rs 1,940 per quintal in the last procurement season, the farmers are enthusiastic.
