GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Friday, handed over appointment letters to the next of the eligible kin of the policemen killed during clashes at Lailapur on the Assam side of the inter-State boundary area with Mizoram on July 26. The appointment letters were given to the six persons. Mentionably, four persons were appointed as Grade-IV employees while one has been appointed as a constable and another as a junior assistant. The newly appointed four Grade-IV employees are Mitali Roy, wife of Sub Inspector (late) Swapan Kumar Roy; Sunita Parbin Barbhuya, wife of Mazrul Haque Barbhuya; Rowzi Akhtar Khanam Laskar, wife of Nazmul Hussain; and Hena Chowdhury, wife of Samsuz Zaman Barbhuya. The newly appointed constable is Sunny Dusad, son of Shyam Sundar Dusad; while the newly appointed junior assistant is Lipika Rani Suklabaidya, wife of Liton Suklabaidya.
