Homage paid to former GS of All Assam Chutia Students’ Union Bipul Chutia

GUWAHATI: Bipul Chutia, former general secretary of the All Assam Chutia Students’ Union (AACSU) and a member of the Chutia Development Council, passed away on September 21 at Dibrugarh Medical College Hospital.

He was paid homage in Birangana Sadhani Bhawan at Borbari in Guwahati on Sunday. During the ceremony, members of Chutia Jati Sammilan, Chutia Yuva Sammilan, Chutia Unnayan Parishad, and Chutia Students’ Union were present.

Members of the Chutia Development Council, namely Nripen Khanikar and Rajni Chutia, respectively, lit the lamp, followed by a minute of silence, and prayers were offered to the department soul. The shraddhanjali was attended by the office secretary of the Chutia Students’ Union, Kundil Chutia, Manas Chutia, Mahendra Rajkhowa, and many others.

The Chutia Students’ Union observed three days of mourning with the flag half-lowered and paid their last respects to the leader across the state. Cabinet ministers Atul Bora, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Bimal Borah, and others also expressed their condolences over the death of the leader.
