House item auction: Dispur Police detain middle man

GUWAHATI: Dispur Police detained a middle man (dalal) identified as Saidul Haque on Saturday. The person was arrested following chaos during the public auction of various items of the ALA (Assam Legislative Assembly) carried out in the premises of the House on Saturday. Haque was taken to the Police station for questioning. Eyewitnesses complained that Haque was quoting prices of the items to deprive the genuine participants during the auction process. The minimum auction price started from Rs 10 while the maximum price went up to Rs 2,100.

Among the 41 items put up for auction included AC, fridge, geyser, steel almirah, sofa, double bed, dining set and dining table.
