Implement CAA Across Country: Mangaldoi MP Dilip Saikia to Centre Govt

GUWAHATI: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) general secretary and Mangaldoi MP Dilip Saikia has appealed to the Central government to implement the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) all across the nation.

While addressing the media following the inauguration programme of State BJP's monthly magazine Asomiya BJP Barta, Saikia said, "The CAA is not an issue for the BJP but is a commitment. However, it was an issue for Opposition parties, several organizations, and intellectuals. In December 2019, the CAA was passed in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha. The implementation of the Act was halted due to various circumstances. But now the Central government has taken several steps to implement the Act in five States -Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan. We want the Central government to take steps to implement the Act across the nation very soon."

Saikia reiterated that the BJP has a clear stance on the CAA and it is determined to implement the Act across the nation. It is to be mentioned that the Asomiya BJP Barta was released by State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass along with Saikia.
