Important to uphold dignity and stature of the Constitution: CM Sarbananda Sonowal

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the 70th Constitution Day programme organised by SAD, GAD and WPT&BC Departments, Govt. of Assam near the statue of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar at the Janata Bhawan on Tuesday.

Paying rich tributes to the father of Indian constitution, Chief Minister Sonowal said that Dr. Ambedkar had achieved a tremendous feat by preparing a constitution which adequately reflected aspirations of a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, multi-faith and multi-ethnic society like India while laying the foundation of a vibrant democracy.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s speech, Sonowal said that the Constitution upholds the very essence of ‘Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat’ motto propagated by the Prime Minister as he has shown by example how one can be dedicated to the nation building process. The Chief Minister also said that it was important to remember one’s duties towards the country while enjoying the Constitution provided rights so that others’ rights do not get violated, a press release stated.
