GUWAHATI: The vegetable wholesalers of the city have pointed to the lack of an ample supply of vegetables and the increased transportation costs as the main reasons for the increase in prices of the vegetables in the wholesale market. Speaking to The Sentinel, one of the wholesalers said, "We try to keep the minimum possible margin in order to reduce the load on the public. The price is mainly decided in the Pamohi vegetable market of the city. Some parties do hike the prices more than usual. But in a few days, the vegetables will become available again, and as a result, the prices will come under control.
